Burger King Brings British Wagyu to the High Street

Burger King has introduced Wagyu beef to its menu for the first time, with 100% British WAGYU!

The burger, called “The Wagyu”, is part of the fast-food chain’s Gourmet Kings range and features a flame-grilled Wagyu beef patty served with caramelised onions, pink pickled onions, crispy onions, rocket, and a caramelised onion mayo in a brioche bun.

What makes the move significant is the source of the beef. Burger King has partnered with Warrendale Wagyu, a major British supplier of Wagyu beef. That means farms across the UK – including local producers such as us Icknield Farm in Birmingham – are part of the supply chain bringing Wagyu to high street diners for the first time.

Traditionally regarded as a luxury product reserved for top-end restaurants, Wagyu is known for its rich marbling, tenderness, and flavour. By offering it in a fast-food setting, Burger King aims to make the meat more accessible while raising awareness of the quality of British Wagyu farming.

The launch has already generated attention thanks to a tongue-in-cheek marketing campaign fronted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Though Ramsay doesn’t cook the burger himself, his endorsement adds star power to what Burger King is calling “the most premium burger on the high street.”

For farmers, the partnership represents a boost in recognition. Steven Butcher of Icknield Farm said: “Being part of the Warrendale Wagyu partnership means we’re contributing to a product that is now on menus across the UK. It’s great to see British Wagyu getting the attention it deserves and reaching more people.”

As British agriculture adapts to new markets, the move signals a growing appetite for premium home-grown beef — and a chance for local farms to shine on a national stage.

A Visit from Bradley Thomas MP !!

We were delighted to welcome Bradley Thomas MP to Icknield Farm this week. His visit gave us a fantastic opportunity to share the work we’re doing here in Birmingham, showcase our cattle, and discuss the future of farming in the West Midlands.

Bradley took a tour around the farm, meeting our calves and seeing first-hand the care and attention that goes into their rearing. He was able to see how much effort goes into maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and producing high-quality beef.

The conversation also touched on the wider challenges and opportunities within British farming today – from the importance of supporting local food production to ensuring young farmers have the tools and confidence to innovate. Bradley showed a genuine interest in our approach and the potential impact for farms like ours across the region.

We’re grateful for his time and support, and we hope his visit highlighted the importance of small family farms and the role they play in our communities.

At Icknield Farm, we’re passionate about producing high-quality beef while continuing to explore new ways to make farming more sustainable. Having the opportunity to share that vision with our local MP was a real privilege.

Proud to showcase our work at Icknield Farm and share our vision for sustainable, high-quality beef.

Icknield Farm to Your Table: Supplying Wagyu

At Icknield Farm, we are proud to play our part in producing some of the finest beef in the country. Through our partnership with Warrendale Wagyu, our calves are reared with the highest standards of care and welfare, before going on to become part of their premium beef supply chain.

Wagyu has built a strong reputation for quality, and we are delighted that our farm can contribute to that story. What makes the journey even more exciting is seeing the beef reach customers across the UK, with Wagyu range directly to Aldi.

For us, it’s a great feeling knowing that the work we do here in Birmingham helps provide families nationwide with access to delicious, high-quality Wagyu beef. Aldi’s partnership with Warrendale means more people can enjoy the unique taste and tenderness of Wagyu – a product once reserved for top restaurants and specialist butchers.

Being part of this supply chain gives us real pride. It shows that small family farms like ours can make a big impact, working together with larger networks to deliver excellence from farm to fork.

At Icknield Farm, our focus will always be on rearing healthy, well-cared-for cattle. To see that effort recognised in supermarkets up and down the country is hugely rewarding – and a reminder of why we love what we do.

At Icknield Farm, we’re always striving to produce the very best beef for our customers, and we’re proud to announce that we are now part of the Warrendale Wagyu partnership.

Warrendale Wagyu is recognised as one of the leading names in British Wagyu beef, known for its outstanding marbling, flavour, and eating quality. By partnering with them, we are able to combine our own passion for animal care and farming standards with the strength of an established, trusted brand.

As part of the partnership, we rear Wagyu-cross calves here at Icknield Farm, ensuring they are well cared for from day one. Being able to work alongside Warrendale Wagyu not only helps us market our beef but also allows us to contribute to a wider network of farmers who share the same values of quality, consistency, and sustainability.

This collaboration gives our farm an exciting opportunity to play a role in producing premium British Wagyu beef, while also giving customers confidence that they are getting a product with a reputation for excellence.

We’re proud to be on this journey with Warrendale Wagyu and look forward to growing our herd and strengthening the partnership in the years to come.
